Technology Does Replace Man-Hours
No political method, in Washington, Ottawa, or elsewhere is going to fix this economy. Why? Because it canât be fixed. In the US, every president since, and including F. D. Roosevelt (when campaigning for office) has promised to balance the budget. Every one of them has failed to do so. Why? Because something they havenât considered has interfered with every attempt. The technological progression in this country and on this continent has rendered this economic system obsolete. It is so out of sync with this high-energy civilization that its complete collapse is imminent. It requires an ever-increasing growth of debt to further postpone the necessity of replacing this system with one specifically designed for this high-speed, highly technical, high-energy social system. And this process has driven the debt so high that it has about reached the limit that will still barely allow money to retain its value.
The federal debt has quadrupled in the past twelve years to $4 trillion. The total national debt, including the federal debt, is $15 trillion and is increasing at about $1 trillion per year. The interest alone at 8 percent on all this debt is about $4,800 per capita. And this amount is increasing at the rate of $320 each year for each individual, on average. A family of four is now paying about $19,200 per year. And itâs increasing. How long can this continue? This is what Americans are now paying to maintain the operation of this obsolete economic system.
This economic system is so antiquated that it allows 35.7 million Americans to live in poverty, and this is just another cost of maintaining the system. This economic system of price, based on a system of scarcity values, has been obsolete since 1929, and has been kept alive by increasing the debt. An alternate method was designed and has been available since 1933. At that time, hundreds of articles were published in the press, but then the lid was clamped tight. The conspiracy of silence concerning this alternative method has been quite effective in withholding this information from the citizens of the US and Canada. Since a considerable amount of time is required for the general public to absorb the complex technicalities of such a change (it could require years), a continuation of this silence can only be construed as an act of treason against the people of this continent.
Who ever heard of anyone who had worked, or clawed, his way to the top in any type of social system being willing to change the system in which he was so successful? Those people are the status quo, the chief upholders of the existing system. And why shouldnât they be? The system has been good to them. However, in the US and Canada those people are finding it increasingly difficult to keep the increasing numbers of the distressed, poverty-stricken, homeless citizens believing in the methods which have worked so well for the rich.
The time has come when the political leaders of North America must produce results or get off the pot.
